Florida: Eros Exarhou

Eros Exarhou is a Florida surfer I met him during one of the photo session with Jordan Irwin, Hugo Chang, and Tyler Crawford. He started surfing when he is five, with drives of passion to succeed in the world of surfing. Now at the age of 16 he is sponsor by Billabong and making surfing not as a job but life. As most reader can recall I mention Eros name in Tyler Crawford's post, Eros help connect me to Tyler without him I would never learn the name of the surfer in Blue Wet suit. (LOL) Thank you Eros. Anyway... within a short time I had with Eros Exarhou, I found my lens drawn toward Eros crazy airs and power moves. During one of the bigger set, Tyler Crawford was shredding and behind him Eros was just taking control of the waves. Sadly, the day I met him is the last day I'll see him in California for the summer. He went back to Florida on 9/11/11, however, I am looking forward to shooting with him when he come to visit again.

Florida: Tyler Crawford

Tyler Crawford was born in Hawaii, but grew up in Florida. Today at the age of 22 he has been surfing for about 10 years. I meet Tyler Crawford this summer during one of the session down at Uppers. The first time I saw him in the water was when a blue wetsuit surfer flew high above this 5ft waves and landed an air reverse. At that moment I was blast away from what just happen. My lens was froze upon the mysterious surfer in blue. I was determine to find him. However, after 30 min. the blue surfer disappear upon the crowded water toward Lowers. At that moment I was very disappointed at the thought of photos without a name and bodies. Nevertheless, on Sept. 8th of 2011, at the most epic session of the summer with Drew Balmer, Jordan Irwin, Jono Druary, Evan Lamb, and Hugo Chang, the mysterious surfer reenter the view of my lens. My lens was moving form Hugo to Jordan as I saw the Blue surfer enter my perspective and did an amazing snap with the water fanning out through the air. I was so stoke to finally see him again. His snap was powerful yet he look relax through the Iris of my lens. He continue to do power move flowing from one to another. Later on I got his information from a local Florida surfer as well as Tyler's friend, Eros Exarhou. I have to say Tyler Crawford was one of my favorite surfers I capture this summer. Power move, having fun, and having flows, Tyler has capture my lens and I thank him for it, look forward his return from Florida.

I met him unexpectedly at Lowers when I was doing a photo session with my friend, Nick Austin. Baird is mostly inspired by Dane Reynolds' surfing. Austin told me that he has been surfing for a few years, however spending a short time with him, I saw a growing potential surfer through my lens. he is competing in the SSS, WSA, and local surf contests. Austin wish to continue his surfing career through the help of getting sponsor. One of his goal as a surfer is to catch a dream waves into the professional life. "Someday I wish to travel around the world to catch every waves out there." - Austin Phillipe Baird. I am looking forward to our next session back at his homebreak.

Lowers Hurley Pro Final: Slater vs. Wright

It was an honor for me to be able to make it to the final of Hurley Pro. I literally slide down the cliff to reach the train track and went through muddy ground and fought some swamp monster to get to the tents. (LOL) I did not really fought some swamp monster but  it was an epic adventure. When I reach the tents the horn blow as I scramble to set my equipment up as mud slide down my legs. Anyway here are the pictures I took of the Round 3 of Kelly Slater vs. Owen Wright!
